Saint-Brevin les pins is prized for its signposted trails, which are a delight for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. In particular, these trails cross the Pierre Attelée, the only dune forest in Loire-Atlantique, where pines were planted in the XIXᵉ century to improve dune stability.
Saint-Brevin is also an ideal location for water sports. Its 8 km coastline is ideal for swimming and a variety of activities such as kite surfing, kayaking, windsurfing and paddle boarding. Its long, sandy beaches are also the backdrop for an impressive parade of floats.

Cycling along the Loire River
Saint-Brevin is also the junction of French and European cycle paths. Several routes cross the town:
- The Loire à Vélo runs along the river from Cuffy in the Cher department to Saint-Brevin, a total distance of 800 km,
- The Vélocéan crosses Saint-Brevin and oscillates between the seafront and the hinterland,
- La Vélodyssée is an itinerary along the banks of the Loire River, leading from Nantes to Saint-Brevin.


What to do near Saint-Brevin les pins?
Take advantage of your stay in Saint-Brevin les pins to cross the bridge – the longest in France – and visit Saint-Nazaire. Its shipyards, home to the world’s largest liners – over 300 m long – are well worth a visit, as is the submarine base housing Escal’Atlantic.
This museum, the only one of its kind in Europe, traces the history of the transatlantic liners. The submarine base is also the place to visit L’Espadon, the first French submarine to venture beyond the Arctic Circle in 1964.

To the south of Saint-Brevin, stop off at Pointe Saint-Gildas, where you can take photos of the waves crashing spectacularly against the rocks. By car along the Route Bleue or on foot along the Sentier des Douaniers, you’ll reach the beaches of Portmain or Le Porteau before reaching Préfailles, and finally Pornic. In the latter, the seafront is distinguished by the presence of its castle and magnificent villas dating from the early XXᵉ century.
Continuing a little further north, you can stop off at the seaside resorts of Pornichet, La Baule, Le Pouliguen and Le Croisic, before reaching Guérande and its magnificent medieval town.
